Women's Suffrage

Some found women inferior
And thought white male’s superior
Their place was in the home with child
To cook and clean and remain mild
Another line of thought entailed
That if the women’s cause prevailed
They’d vote to outlaw alcohol
And liquor profits then would fall

The brewers worked behind the scenes
They won most votes through crooked means
In every state of our country
They fought for half a century
The brewers were formidable
Change for the good is gradual

And after all was said and done
The bullies lost, the women won
Because of women's victory
One half of us became more free
It’s great to see our system works
Despite the efforts of those jerks
